Backing up letters the NFLPA recently sent to top elected officials concerning a possible play stoppage in the 2011 season, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees said Wednesday it makes sense for political leaders to keep a close eye on the issue.
A work stoppage, which the players’ union has been predicting because it believes the league’s owners favor a lockout next season, would have an adverse impact on local economies. And Brees noted that could be even more pronounced in smaller cities like New Orleans.
Brees also said a lockout would effect the local economy in a very great way, especially when you talk about the Saints, the Packers, the Bills and some of these other all the jobs, all the revenue that are generated. What’s more, the tourism may be affected too, noted by Brees, the guy used to be in typical Authentic Drew Brees White Jersey. The game would attract tens or hundreds or thousands of people because some of them are coming not to go to the game but just to enjoy the festivities.
